About the string

A string around the wrist is older than any trend. For centuries, many cultures have tied it for protection, and every colour carries its own meaning.

The string is complemented by a symbol of eternity – a diamond or a gold detail that endures even when the string wears. That is why you can always replace the string with a new one.

Colour meanings

  • Red. Long associated with protection and good fortune in many cultures. The oldest and most worn string colour.
  • Black. Strength and inner power. For those who value staying true to themselves.
  • Brown. The colour of the earth, linked to stability and life. For those who value constancy.
  • Green. A sign of growth, renewal and harmony. For the start of a new chapter.
  • Pink. The colour of love, tenderness and friendship. Often given to someone close.
  • Blue. Calm, truth and a clear mind. For those who value focus.
  • Light Blue. Associated with protection and lightness across the Mediterranean. For those seeking peace.
  • Yellow. The colour of the sun, embodying joy, optimism and luck. For those awaiting good news.
  • Orange. Energy, courage and creativity. For those ready for change.
  • Grey. Balance and restraint. For those who value quiet and simplicity.

How to wear

  • Size. One size, fits wrists of 15–19 cm.
  • Hand. Traditionally the string is tied on the left wrist, but the choice is yours.
  • For yourself or as a gift. Some tie the string for themselves, others give it to someone dear – as a wish or a reminder of what matters.

Care and string replacement

The string. Over time, the string naturally wears. It will keep its colour and shape longer if you protect it from perfume, creams and household chemicals. We recommend removing the bracelet before swimming in a pool or the sea and before sports.

String replacement. When your string wears, we will replace it with a new one in the colour of your choice at any RIBAS Jewellery boutique. Only the string is replaced – the gold detail you chose stays with you. During the first year after purchase, replacement is free of charge; after that, or if the replacement is not covered by warranty, it costs €10. Please bring your receipt. If you cannot visit a boutique, write to us at support@ribas.com.

Diamond and gold. Even the hardest stone needs care. We invite you to have your jewellery cleaned free of charge at any RIBAS Jewellery boutique every 3–6 months.

About the gemstone

A diamond is light concentrated in the hardest gemstone in the world. RIBAS Jewellery was born at the Diamond Exchange, and to this day we select every diamond ourselves, holding it in our hands. Two diamonds with the same certificate can look entirely different, so we buy not the certificate but the difference – the fire that a precise cut reveals. Every RIBAS Jewellery piece features only natural diamonds. From 0.30 ct, each diamond carries a GIA certificate; smaller stones are graded and certified by our specialists to the same standard.

Mohs hardness: 10/10
